A valuable online resource for historical knitting is available thanks to Jane Malcolm-Davies’s Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellowship research into Early Modern knitted caps in museum collections. The website provides an introduction to the research project, which was funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme, information about the citizen science activities it included and a list of the resulting publications. The Knitting in Early Modern Europe (KEME) database offers access to photographs and information about more than 60 knitted caps thought to date from the late 15th to the early 17th centuries. Jane undertook the research at the Centre for Textile Research at the University of Copenhagen, where she still holds an associate professorship. The KEME project is now hosted by The Tudor Tailor.
