#### Operation farthingale sleeve goes to hospital ####

The Tudor Tailor’s recent ‘forensic’ investigation of the farthingale sleeve and its silk oversleeve has provided fascinating new information about their construction. This will be revealed at an online event on Sunday 13 August (2pm to 5.30pm BST). #### A full lineup of sleeve sleuthing coming live online ####

The event also offers an opportunity to see the revelation of the previously unpublished farthingale sleeve unfold as it happened in October 2022 during the *Missing Persons* conference. The video of Dr Susan North’s careful step-by-step examination of it not only showcases her method of investigation but provides excellent close-up shots of the garment and her conclusions about its construction. After the video, Susan will be on hand to answer questions. There will also be an exclusive preview of the latest *Who do you think you were?* video. #### Stamping and slashing in the studio - in a good way ####

In addition, Jane and Ninya will discuss the sources for the farthingale sleeve reconstruction featured in [*The Typical Tudor*](https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1351741932) and show off its new partner, an oversleeve in silk satin stamped and slashed just like the original. The new sleeve is the work of recent TT intern Mackenzie Ozhekim, who estimates she spent 24 hours carefully recreating the stamped and slashed motifs. #### Last chance to vote for textile treasures translation ####

Thanks to everyone who has already taken part in the online poll to express interest in the proposed English translation and new edition of the late Hanna Zimmerman’s book Textiel in Context. Nearly 400 votes have been cast and this makes it hopeful there is enough interest in it to go ahead. If you haven’t already done so, please do visit the TT’s [website](https://www.tudortailor.com/textiel-in-context) to see an example of the textiles dated 1577 to 1600 the proposed book will feature and then consider registering your support for the translation. The deadline has been extended to Friday 28 July to see if there are more than 400 potential readers out there!
